Hey all, my laptop has been overheating a lot lately (Asus G50vt-x1) and I decided to clean it out, replace the fan (it was making noise/struggling) and replace the thermal compound on the CPU, and GPU.

I ran the Heaven benchmark for about 15 min and my temps stabilized and was wondering if this is an okay temp for a laptop. It is def A LOT lower then before.

CPU MAX - 50 Celsius
CPU IDLE - 28 Celsius
GPU MAX- 84 Celsius
GPU IDLE - 50 Celsius

The temps dropped dramatically doing this work to the laptop but was wanting to see if its safe now!

Hi That looks pretty good for a laptop. :)

My desktop (i5 2500K and 6950) games at mid 60's (CPU) and mid 70's (GPU)

Without knowing more about that specific laptop/cooling setup - I'd say your temps are pretty good/nothing to worry about.

I'm curious: what were the temps before?
