2 hardrive setup?

okay so im building a whole new gaming pc.. and what i was going to do was get a new 1 terabyte hdd and then also take the old one from my old pc and since i have loads of games on there and stuff could i use that.....and play games off that hardrive... And too let you know i will use the new harddrive to install the new OS windows 8.1...But please let me know if this will work or not?

None of the pathways are correct and the directories are not correct either. Simply, it will not work without reinstalling the games. You can see the game files and all, but you cannot run them. It will give you an error.

You cannot just put the old HDD in the new computer and run the game installed on it. They will not work because nothing there is installed to the new computer's directory.

You can put the HDD in the computer to get files and stuff off it, but you will have to reinstall all your games.

i'm not trying to backtalk or anything but is there any way you can explain how that works.. like yea i have all my games on one old hdd but guessing because its not my Primary hdd it wont go straight to it or something?
