Hey guys

I have a friend who's thinking about buying this motherboard. He already has 2x MSI GTX 760, that he want to SLI, but we're a bit worried about if the SATA-ports might interfere.

The height of the SATA-ports could collide with the PCB of the Graphics card, and that would be a shame.

Before buying we would like to know if anyone has any experience or could give us some advice.

Thank you very much!

It's not the cables I'm worried about. I've had a motherboard that couldn't SLI because the double-stacked SATA-ports were too tall. Therefor the GPU collided with the ports. Back then it was only 1mm from being able to fit without collision, and I'm afraid that this will happen here too...

Really? That's very odd, I've never heard of anyone having that issue before. Which particular model 760's does your friend have? There are certainly many many images of people using that board for SLI online. I'd be seriously surprised if you have any issue, but obviously me saying that is hardly a guarantee of me being correct, so I can understand the concern you're feeling!

The MSI 760's I've seen seem rather well laid out in regards to the bottom of the card (no heat pipes hanging down, low hanging shroud, or anything like that), so I can see no obvious reason why there would be any collision issue. That's the best I can really tell you sadly. If you're still feeling hesitant, perhaps wait from someone with the exact same setup, or try searching the forums here for someone who built the same setup.

Best of luck

It's the Twin Frozr IV model. The one i had this problem with was an ASUS 770 DCUii and a MSI motherboard. I think we'll try to order it and see if it fits. If not, I'll be sure to write about it in this thread.

Thank you!
