I agree, get the i5-4670K as it's a good solid CPU for this and any other game.

Xeon processors aren't designed for gaming BTW. They are optimized for Workstation oriented tasks. They may get a similar score in some benchmarks as an i5/i7 but would likely do better in some Workstation tasks, but worse in areas like gaming. So you really would have to find specific benchmarks but in general the best choice for most people is an i5-4670K or similar.

You'll obviously need acceptable graphics as well, though the iGPU in the Intel CPU (HD4600) is passable in Minecraft, just not great.

My minimum light/medium gaming recommendation if you care at all is the Asus GTX750Ti ($150 USD) which can be slightly overclocked further. Now that prices...

Seeming as games that do are in the the incredible minority, my guess would be no.
If my memory is correct, hyperthreading actually drastically reduces framerate in MC,
as it's singlethreaded and only runs on half of a core.
