Hello,

I've had a lot of success with this site so thought I'd post an interesting question up.

My Front Right Speaker for Logitech z506 (the one with the on/off switch) was knocked off my PC bench by my son.
It does still work, but intermittently. I think a connection was broken inside the volume switch because when I push that switch in (apply pressure to it), the sound usually works.

I've tried taking it apart to have a look at the solders etc, but haven't been able to get past the 4 hex screws. I've taken them out, but can't get the face plate off.

Any suggestions or solutions as to how to pull this apart would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Hizz

After much battling, and ripping apart the speaker (I'd bought a new one already) I found the solution!

Turn the speaker upside down, and you'll find the 2 felt pads they sit on. Pull these off, and there'll be 2 smaller Phillips Head screws that need to be taken out. Once this is done, the back part of the casing should come off easy as pie.

Hope this helps anyone else in my situation,

Happy Computing,

Hizz

After opening the hex and the 2 smaller screws above the pads i still couldn't open. Something in the top is stopping it. Any idea whats there in the top thats preventing the opening?

I had same problem but I just carefully pulled the top off by grabbing the top of the speaker from the front and back pieces with both hands and pulled the 2 sections aparts by slowly and evenly increasing the pulling tension till it popped out.
