What's the best place to set a motherboard on to install the cpu and ram before I put it in the case, I do not intend on buying an anti-static mat. Would the box it shipped with be good, also I heard that the foam that comes with is anti-static, would that be good to set it on? I do plan on using an anti-static wrist strap though.

You should be fine. You can just put it on the box or on the anti static bag, or even a desk (so long as its not metal). I've built several computers without the strap and have just had motherboards lying on desks etc. Of course, take caution, but dont worry too much.

The box will work great, or the bag. Try to not touch the pins :)
