sony vaio wont boot linux

hey guys i have a sony vaio vgn fe590p with windows xp i cant stand xp to slow an all other ish well i went throughthe steps to boot from a flash drive and went i try to boot it i get a boot error what do i have to do to boot this program plz help me out

well that the next thig i was plaing on doing but i always booted from my usb vaio is the only one that ever gave me a problem

If you were running XP and it ws slow you may not have enough RAM for a standard Ubuntu (not your problem here though) you may want to consider Lubuntu to start with.

This problem seems to be showing up a lot lately. Check your BIOS and in boot order does hard drive have a + next to it? Some BIOSs recognize a bootable flash as a hard drive. If it's there you'll need to change the hard drive order.
