Hey guys, I've just started getting a problem a few days ago with my computer, whereas my CPU Usage is at a constant 50% due to the system process. I looked a little further into it using Windows Process Explorer and I found that xhcdrv.sys is using about 49% of my CPU power. I found one other post about this problem and one thing we had in common was the same motherboard, the GIGABYTE 78LMT-USB3 Ultra Durable motherboad. Also just to mention, my motherboard is an upgrade from my original one so I'm not sure if that could be something to do with it? The CPU is an AMD Anthlon II X2 220 2.8GHz Processor. If you need any more info just let me know and thanks in advance for the help!

You could try to update them again, only this time get rid completely of previous drivers (very likely some files from the previous mobo drivers are still around in your OS) by using driver sweeper (you can find it at guru3d.com), only after that install new drivers again.

See if that fixes the problem.
"an upgrade from my original one", when you upgraded did you also reinstall the OS? if not the drivers might be doing some conflict causing the excessive usage of CPU resources.

If you already made a fresh install try updating your mobo drivers from gigabyte's website.

Well my OS was built in and when I upgraded, then windows 7 just installed itself so I assumed it had installed itself properly? Am I wrong? Just at the time I was worried incase I'd have to fork out £100 just to get my OS working again
And I've tried updating my drivers, not sure if I did it wrong but when I tried updating them it didn't seem to make a difference

Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I just searched my motherboard on the Microsoft Comparability Center and I can't seem to find it anywhere... Atleast not the exact same one as mine
