Hi folks. I have been using my gaming rig to mine litecoins and bitcoins, but I would like to set up a separate dedicated mining machine. I'm looking for thoughts, opinions, and suggestions to get the most bang for my buck. I greatly appreciate your feedback on this one. The rig I am considering so far consists of:

AsRock H81 Pro BTC LGA 1150 mobo x1
Adata xpg 4GB DDR3 RAM x1
Pentium G3220 CPU x1
Sapphire 100368DP r7 250 GPU x6
PCIe 16x to 16x unpowered riser cable x1
PCIe 16x to 1x unpowered riser cables x5
Sandisk SDSSDRC-032G 32 GB SSD x1
CoolerMaster Silent Pro Gold 1200w PSU x1
Ubuntu OS

I'm going to set up 2 high flow box fans in a push/pull configuration to get as much airflow ov the components as I can. One of the things I'm particularly concerned about is whether the PSU is more or less than I need to run all the GPU's at load. This build comes in at exactly $1000 on newegg which is my budget. I might be able to squeeze a little more cash into it if there is sufficient cause. I would also appreciate any suggestions about the GPU's. If anyone knows of better video cards for litecoin mining that are around $80 each, I'm all ears. Thank you all in advance for your help.

That will handle 4 if you overclock them really high or 5 if you don't but you also need to think about power cables because adapters are NOT an option and most people use multiple PSUs in mining rigs. You You want a 350w unit for the CPU/motherboard and then a 1200w PLATINUM unit for the GPUs. If you get anything less than a platinum unit, you will barely be able to cover your electricity costs. Expect to pay $300+ for the PSU alone. Stick with Seasonic or Antec as Both use Seasonic as an OEM for their high end units and Antec uses Delta for a few which is arguably even better than Seasonic.

Get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371064&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= Pretty much the best PSU you can buy on the market right now and has the connectors/ power for running 5 7950s overclocked at 1.2v each. Don't be fooled by the negative reviews. Those people clearly don't understand how a PSU like that works and failed to properly connect it, or had a system with such low power draw that it pulled below 20% wattage at idle and caused issues. Again, on pretty much any review site, it is the best PSU money can buy.
