Hello, I'm new to building gaming computers. So for my first one (it's a budget gaming computer) I want to know what parts I should get. I'm looking at $350-$500 price range that should run DayZ medium or low settings. Any suggestions would be great.

Solution
This is pretty entry level, but it should be able to play day-z on low settings at least. I cut back on the parts a bit... incase you need to buy an OS...

Don't gimme that, that CPU is not 50% cheaper than an FX 6300, but it is 50% weaker http://www.game-debate.com/cpu/index.php?pid=1148&pid2=1146&compare=athlon-ii-x4-750k-vs-fx-6300

Uhh, your evidence only shows it being like 10-20% better...
Game debate even says both CPUs can run DayZ standalone on high settings...

Let's talk honest here, considering the price difference, is it worth it to get an outdated socket and CPU for 30 dollars less? if you ask me no, but i am new around here so...yeah

If i was willing to break his budget, I'd go with an i3-4130 over the 6300, as an i3 socket would let him upgrade to an i7 down the line.
