Hey all,
I've been saving up for a new PC for a while now and I want get a PC that will be able to run games, record them, and edit videos in Sony Vegas and maybe a little bit of streaming . I can already do this on my mediocre gaming laptop so I don't think it would be a problem on the build I have put together. The main thing is I would like to do this at higher FPS because I can only currently do it on low settings in games.

Are there any changes I should make to this build to either lower the price or increase the performance at around the same price? I was thinking around $950 but $1000 max.

Here's the build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3swIS

I wasn't to sure about the mobo and if the PSU is maybe a little too low?

Thanks

Here's my customization. I personally have a Chaser A71 Full Tower in Black and I loooooove it. The white A31 is very similar and surprisingly inexpensive. Corsair is a very good brand for PSU. The GTX 760 is a little more expensive for no real increase in performance over the 270X. i5-4670K is definitely the way to go. Pop a good Noctua cooler on that bad boy and you can clock it beyond 4.0GHz. The SSD is a MUST for a modern gaming system. Run Windows and your essential programs/games from the SSD and use the TB Caviar Black for storage of all the movies, recordings you do. WD Caviar Black are time-tested and true. The RAM is up to you, really. G.Skill is a reputable brand and popular with their Ripjaw series modules...

Well at first I do a lot of editing with 2k/4k raw files and had been doing editing for 10 years. For gaming it seems fine but a bit more ram is necessary... For editing these days i recomend 16gigs of ram even slower more is better, also buying two hard drives and making an array (RAID0) really helps. At first 8 gigs of ram at minimum the rest you probably need to spend more. Sorry for my english I try my best.

Yes you will need more RAM. I would also sneak a $70 SSD in there if you had enough budget. Once you put your OS on it and Sony Vegas (along with a couple mid-sized games) you'll notice a huge increase in speed.

I work with video/photo editing software as well, and my $600 rig blows away the $2,000 iMacs I'm forced to use at school, mainly because of the SSD.

The motherboard I chose is very highly rated, full ATX, sleek black, 7.1 Sound, 32GB RAM maximum, etc. etc. Hope this helps!

Edit: That mobo will accept up to 3000MHz RAM hahahahaha... for future use of course...

If I may, the power supply I suggested is a lot better than that XFX one. Look at the Amps in the description. You gain an extra 18A on the 12V rail. It has more Amps on all the rails, not just the 12V. The Corsair is also a higher wattage. You have a ton of room to grow with the Corsair should you look to add parts in the future. Just my thoughts...

The corsair has higher wattage but it is lower quality than the xfx. The xfx uses Seasonic as its OEM with japanese capacitors and the Corsair CX uses chinese capacitors...

Stick with the XFX or if you want more wattage grab the 650w version for $10 more.

Yeah I got the OC CPU/MOBO for overclocking but probably in the future, so when I do plan to OC I will get the cooler.
