Nearly all applications/games I own have default install locations in the 32-bit folder, Program Files(x86).
Now, when running these games, will they run in 32 bit? Most of the applications I have in there aren't 32 bit applications, they just install there for whatever reason. Just because they're in there, will 64-bit clients run in 32 bits instead of 64? That's kind of a big deal, 32 bit for games is really bad and outdated.

In response, I ask why does Windows then install the applications there instead of my 64 bit folder? My 32 bit folder is huge, and my 64 is mostly the default stuff that is in it, and some shovelware.

I've had Windows 7 for years and I don't even think I remember once where the default install location was in just Program Files. It's always been the x86 one.

In answer to that query, a lot of 64 bit programs will still install some portion of their program into the x86 directory for compatibility with other programs and features of the operating system, but if you have chosen to install the 64 bit, you should see installation directories in both the Program Files and Program Files (x86) directories as some files are required in both to make it work properly.
