I had a 1tb Buffalo external hdd that although recognised by my samsung tv the files on it would not play. When connected to a PC through a usb cable the drive was also unreliable sometimes the files would play sometimes not. But when i stripped out the wd hdd and connected it via the sata connections it appears to work fine! I have installed a new wd hdd in the portable srive caddy and that works fine, so the drive case is not the problem. Why will the drive work when connected via sata connectors but not through usb cable.
