Continuous buzzing noise, not my microphone

For some reason there is a continuous buzzing noise from me over any kind of communication (I don't know what to call them, but for example; Skype, TeamSpeak, Mumble, in-game chat). When people first started telling me about the buzzing, I thought it might be my headset (SteelSeries Siberia V2), but the buzzing didn't go away when I muted the mic or even unplugged it. Now I'm worried that it's my "sound card." I put that in quotes because I'm using onboard audio (RealTek HD Audio). The buzzing is just a static-buzzing type of noise, the kind you will always hear in one game lobby or another. If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

It's not a noise coming from the computer, but a sound over the microphone. It's not me hearing the noise, but anyone I'm talking to over Skype or anything like that.

That's the thing, it's definitely not the mic as the sound continues even after I've unplugged the entire headset. Also, I got this mic for Christmas this year, and I wouldn't expect it to go bad that quickly.
