Hello .

Yesterday my PC installed an updated for Windows 8.1 . After the install and reboot I uninstalled iTunes and the iTunes folder in "Documents". Then turned off my computer . Today I turn on my PC and I get the " Automatic Repair " screen .. The Repair Never Works .. I tried to restore from backup and failed twice . I tried reset my PC and used my Windows 8.0 Upgrade Install Disk but I can't Refresh or Reset PC because it says " Invalid Media or Disk ". I can't boot into safe mode either . It Goes Right back to the Repair Screen . Can anyone help me with this , I'm stuck at the Repair screen ?

*Note* ( I updated my Windows 7 Gateway 64 Bit PC to Windows 8.0 with Disk and upgraded to 8.1 via App Store )

Apologise for not replying immediately, whole of N. Scotland had a power outage lasting several hours!
Hopefully you can boot from the Installation disk, although it is the Upgrade version you can use it to clean install. This means losing all your data, if you're not comfortable with that, there are means of retrieving it before you proceed...
Make your Optical Drive 1st in boot order.
Boot from your Installation disk, when you get to the screen 'Where do you want to...

Can you boot from your Upgrade Disk and choose 'Repair' to get into Troubleshoot/Advanced Options? If so go to CMD Prompt and try sfc /scannow

If not, your next step depends on how much you stand to lose from your Hard Drive, i.e. is all your data backed up to an external source?
If all is backed up, you can 'clean install' Windows 8 using your Upgrade disk.
Boot from the disk and choose Custom Install instead of Upgrade.
When you get to the screen 'Where do you want to install Windows' choose 'Drive options (Advanced)', select each partition in turn and delete them, so you end up with only Unallocated Space. Continue to install Windows on this space without formatting or creating any partitions, this will ensure a 'clean' install and allow Windows to create a System Reserved partition (350Mb).
To activate Windows, simply leave the installation disk in place and Refresh your PC by typing 'Refresh' at your Start Screen, and from Settings select Refresh your PC. Once completed your Windows will be activated.

Thanks for the Reply . I Can get to the troubleshoot/ advanced options . I use the Command you gave me .. It scanned and it said , " There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete . Restart Windowns and Run sfc again . " . I rebooted my computer and nothing happen .. What do I do now ?

Did you use the Installation disk to get to Advanced options? Should get you there again. Try Refresh from here, it might work from the Installation disk boot...If not, seriously consider a re-install...

I wouldn't get the Disk to run at all . So I'm going to Plan B . So I'm trying to reinstall now .. But once I can't use anything because I'm on 8.1 and only have the 8.0 Disk so it's telling me Invalid Media .. What do I do or what am I doing wrong at this point
