I plan on building my first rig and was wondering if the AMD Quad-Core A10-5800k paired with a Geforce GTX 760 would be a good choice for a budget build. Ive heard an i5 would be a better option, but the only two in my range would either be a 4570 or the 4430 i5. The reason i am considering the AMD is simply cause the barebone kit it comes with is in my range, comes with basically everything needed to get going minus a GPU and would still leave enough in my budget to get the GPU along with a screen. For those curious, the CPUs listed above are all in barebone kits and the one just mentioned is this: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/ite...

Might be useful information, this is going to be mainly a gaming rig, as far as the games that I will be running, just about any type from bf4 to games that don`t need a high end gpu/cpu match up at all.

Get an fx-6300, not the a10. the a10 is a weaker cpu with an integrated gpu-which you won't really use.

-if it's in your budget, a 4570 is the best value i5- you will also need a good graphics card here aswell.

The 4570 is in budget, and no matter which way i go i am pretty set on the gtx 760 as my GPU of choice.

Sounds good, get an asus/msi card and make sure you get a quality PSU.

Thanks for the tip, psu will probably be a Ultra LS Series 600W Power Supply - ATX, SATA-Ready, PCI-Express, great reviews, plenty of power, all the connectors i`d need, and a three year warrenty. Once again thansk for the quick awnser and extra info. Should be ordering most of the build next week.

nice build, logain, you are missing the ram tho...

This will perform pretty much the same in current games and cost less, but in the long run i think is more futureproof as this CPU can handle 8 heavy threads and allow for CPU overclocking:
