Accessing network from external IP

Hello all,

I have a NanoStation which connects to other nanostations forming a wireless network. Each nanoStation is connected to a switch with some other devices.

One NanoStation acts as an Access Point. If I connect the Access Point to my laptop I can connect to every device on the network by typing the IP in the browser (all devices have port 80 open)

I want to connect the the Access Point to a router so I can connect to the network from an external IP.

For example, I have one device with IP 192.168.1.100 and the router's IP (provided by ISP) is 95.31.26.12 (random number)

I followed this guide: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/ZTE/ZHXN-H108NS/ZNES.htm
and I tried to map a port to a local Ip address.

for example 95.31.26.12:200 should connect to 192.168.1.100 (on the internal network) but It does not work

Is port forwarding the right way to go or I should try something else?

Thank you

I will assume you forwarded the port to the inside IP on port 80 and just forgot to type it.

Make sure when you attempt to test this you really are coming from the outside. Many routers will properly map stuff when you attempt to access the outside address from a machine on the inside network.

Also be sure the device you are trying to access has a default gateway that is the router so it knows how to get back to the external machines trying to access it.
