I have narrowed down my options for graphic card and will buy the nvidia gtx780 ti.

Current options are-

Gigabyte gtx 780 ti windforce OC model for -$839

Asus gtx780 ti direct CU II- $899

Gigabyte gtx780 ti Ghz edition- $920

All the prices are AUD to slightly more expensive than US market price.

More about : choose gtx 780 model

Hi shamsmu,
the Gigabyte gtx780 ti Ghz edition is a great card and the windforce cooling is awesome , pretty hard to go past this card
The asus gtx780 ti direct CU II is also a really good card , but of your three choices the Gigabyte gtx780 ti Ghz edition is the best card IMHO

But it is also an additional $90 over the standard windforce OC model. Is it really worth it?

The cheaper GB model. You could just overclock it yourself. What kind of PSU do you have?

Full spec is on my sig. And yes I was thinking the same. The only real advantage of the Gigabyte GHZ model I can see is the backplate. But I was looking for some full reviews. Performance is what I am more concerned about but dont want to spend more unreasonably.

both gigabyte cards are great , just depends on weather you want the factory overclock or do it yourself

I wouldn't mind overclocking my own gpu but need to know whether the GHZ edition has better chip or something.

not that i am aware of , i think the extra is for the overclock and the backplate , either card is great , there will be very few games on the planet you cant max out with these cards

I'd say the DCUII is better for OC'ing as I've heard it's cooler is one of the best performing coolers

They're both good coolers for OCing. The WF3X is capable of dissipating 600w of heat.

The Gigabyte Ghz edition has a higher binned chip. (Thus why it has a factory OC of 1150 boost compared to the others being a good 100mhz+ less)(Hardware canucks review was actually hitting 1203 mhz avg without doing anything while getting 1258MHz without voltage mods. but noted "there seemed to be much more in the tank". Memory frequencies eventually hit 7776MHz) It also has two 8 pin power connectors which will give you more OC headroom. It has a dual bios switch in case you want to experiment with alternative BIOS without taking the chance of not being able to revert back to the original. It basically uses the same binning process that is used for the classified versions from EVGA to have a little more OC headroom. Not to mention a back plate that will add to its longevity. It would be the superior performer with its windforce cooler. You should have no problem hitting well over 1200 mhz on this card without any voltage mods. While probably being able to hit 1300 mhz with a little extra juice. (Or at least i did with the Ghz GTX 780.) Basically it just boils down to whether you want the baddest OC'ing version of the choices you laid out here. With the best ability to keep it all cool while doing so...:)
