When I set an application to use the AMD card I see no significant difference in performance.
I used CCC to check for updates and it said there were none.

Also in some games you can use a drop down menu to select the card, but I only get the option for the intel card.

I tested it on many games and it was more or less the same.Could someone pllleeeaaasseee help?

Dont worry dude :)  It is normal problem as those card with switchable graphics are meant for power saving purpose.I assume yours is a notebook.I using Acer Aspire E1-572G with AMD 8750M 2GB DDR3 version which have exactly the same problem as you when i just bought :p  you cant select the card to use even in game. The card usually comes with the Enduro Technology which will automatic switch cards from Intel to AMD card when you are in heavy usage of graphics.Although games you played displayed as Intel HD graphics at the Video options,it is USING AMD card on that time so no worries bro ^^ If you are still afraid you can go to that Switchable Graphics option to select the High Performance option for the game you playing, then it would run on high peroformance on that game :)  No worries dude :D  FYI,the latest mobility driver that AMD release for notebook graphics is 14.1 beta verison which only have the Mantle on Battlefield 4 i think :p  for other games the latest mobility driver haven't release yet :)
