a prpblem with the xp sys startup wav file

I made up a wav file (about 12 sec long). It plays fine in manual mode. But when I set the wav file in the sound properties to the start windows event, test it again on the test button it is ok. The big but is when windows starts the same wav file only plays 6 seconds (out of the 12 sec's total) and stops playing. Anyone have any ideas?

I imagine 12 seconds is too long for "real world" use, even though it's okay when tested. Windows has to get on with loading other (more important) stuff during startup, I imagine that's why your audio file stops playing after six seconds.

Is there a way to make xp play the hole 12 seconds? It is for a lcars network shell. There is other Star Trek wav files for the start windows event that are longer then mine and they play all the way through. I have seen it running on other laptops with os Xp Pro. I am only gessing but I think there is some kind of a timer in the registry that sets the amount of time the sound file plays
