Hi, for the past few days I've had trouble starting my laptop. Yesterday I actually restored it to its factory, which meant wiping all of my data. I restored my backups and everything seemed fine until today.

Now when I start the computer, I see the Dell logo screen, with the text "F2-setup" and "F12-Boot Options" in the lower-right corner. This screen is up for a couple seconds, then the screen goes black and stays there.

None of the programs restored by my backup are new; does anyone have some suggestions as to what I should do? Please let me know if you need more information.

If you press F12, are you able to run the Dell diagnostics? Dell's tools are pretty good for testing your computer's hardware. I would guess you have a hard drive failure, but that is just a guess. The Dell diagnostics can help you figure that out.
