I have a Razer Naga Molten Edition mouse which is just over a year old now, and recently it has started playing up on my system, either that or something is wrong with my PC hardware/software.

Every few minutes or so when I pan the cursor across the screen, both horizontally and vertically, the mouse will jitter and freeze up in its path. This happens in both desktop mode and in games.

I've noticed recently that the Razer Synapse software which runs the mouse drivers has been acting strange. For example, I set the mouse lights to be turned off, but they sometimes randomly come on by themselves. I thought it may have been my Windows 8 OS too, or maybe my USB port or mouse mat surface. However, I recently reinstalled my entire OS to Windows 8.1, I changed the USB port and even my mouse mat. The issue persists.

Any suggestions for how I can diagnose whether it's a software or hardware problem?

Thanks

sounds like the mouse is dying mate. best email razer and ask for an RMA number.

a couple of things you can try before you send it off. install fresh drivers and software, clean the sensor opening, clean your mouse mat.
a dirty mouse mat can cause jitter as can a hair stuck in the sensor opening.
