Hello,

I have the exact same system as this post from a year ago: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1649122/compatib...

I just wanted to confirm if the suggested card upgrades from that post are still relevant and/or what other options would I have today to upgrade? I am trying to stay in $250-$300 range

Last week I tried to upgrade to the EVGA GeForce 760 but apparently those are not compatible with my mb.

why is the 760 not compaitble with your MOBO? PCI-express is universal and backward compatible

i'd be more worried about the cheap power supply in that thing.

I'd get a gtx 750 or 750ti that don't require extra power. they're still about 60% faster than the 6850 you have now.

I actually did get a 600w power supply and took both that and the new video card to Geek Squad for installation since I don't feel comfortable doing that on my own. They had my unit for 4 days and couldn't get it to work. The psu worked fine but when using the new card they could not get a display. They said they see this on HP units and it had something to do with the pci-e of the newer cards and stuff they couldn't bypass due Windows 8 setup (I use Windows 7). So they basically told me I need to find out from HP what video cards would work with my system but I'm asking here first.
