Hey everyone,

My father in law likes to post YouTube videos of him playing guitar and singing. He just recently upgraded to a condenser mic and audio interface to his old outdated PC. He wants a new desktop to be able to edit his video and audio for $600. I told him I'd look into building him a PC or buying one. There are so many options on PCPartpicker that I just don't feel educated enough on todays PC components to get the best bang for his buck. Looking for some suggestions please.

I do have a mouse, keyboard, license of windows 7, and Sony Vegas Pro for him.

A kicker in the budget will be that he needs a monitor.

Hoping to give him 8GB RAM( 2 X 4 GB), 1000 GB @ 7200RPM, Intel CPU, and a decent graphic card. I understand that an AMD processor may be more bang for the buck so I'm not against them.

something like this:
wd 1tb blue 7200 - $60
8gb ddr3 1600 - $70
AMD FX6300 six core - $110
whatever motherboard is on sale with rebates ATX AM3+ ~ $70

23/24" 1080p monitor.. whichever is on sale with rebates.

i would just use newegg for all of it.. they're rarely beaten on price, and never beaten on service
xfx 500w 80+ bronze PSU - $50
gtx 750 video card ~$110 whichever is on sale with rebates
raidmax case ~$30 whichever is on sale with rebates
