CPU-Z shows wrong G Skill RAM timing

I just purchased and upgraded my notebook with two of G Skill DDR3-1333 4GB RAM which both have timing of 9-9-9-24. I replaced my two older stock 2x2GB.

I downloaded CPU-Z to inspect the new RAMs, and found my ACer laptop doesn't recognize the 9-9-9-24 timing and it stayed at 7-7-7-20. Acer also doesn't offer advance BIOS setting so I can't manually change CPU timing in there.

Any suggestion? Is it likely going to cause trouble? (right now I haven't experience problem yet)

Spec:
ACER 5742-7551
Windows 7 64-bit
Intel i5 460M

Thanks!

As stated in your OP you purchased DDR-1333 not DDR3-1066
model GSkill RAM F3-10666CL9S-4GBSQ

So the RAM you purchased DDR3-1333 is supposed to run faster 666 Mhz and have those slower timings 9-9-9-24, BUT your BIOS is running the RAM slower at 533 Mhz 7-7-7-20 which is the the spec for DDR3-1066
Which is correct for that speed.

Just because you purchase RAM that CAN run faster does mean your Notebook will run the RAM at that speed, unless the BIOS allows the change.

G-Skill is pointing out that a newer BIOS update might allow the RAM to run at rated speed 666Mhz, but your ACER is spec'ed at DDR3-1066 (533Mhz) so there is little chance that an update will change mem speed.

To be clear installing RAM that is rated to run faster...

WOW I didn't expect G Skill to have staff here. Thanks. The DDR3-1066 I purchased says timing is 9-9-9-24 F3-10666CL9S-4GBSQ. Please see my post above...

To be clear installing RAM that is rated to run faster than what your laptop is going to run it at is not a problem it will just run at the speed your BIOS allows.

That's it, done. The Memory is OK, Your Laptop is OK, You are OK.

Thanks rwinches for the reassuring answer. Glad to know all's well :)
ps: Acer BIOS doesn't even have the option to manually change the RAM speed nor timing. and I checked, there is no BIOS update available..
