hello everyone.

i just upgraded my CPU from a 5200+ brisbane to a 4130 zimb edition 125w. now my motherboard says it can only handle 95w but the processor is doing just fine, looking at some values in cpuid HW monitor the max watts it gets under 100% load all 4 cores is about 64w. im guessing that's okay, also it maxes out at around 16 degrees celcius in heat. but it seems like i've lost performance.

my motherboard is a hybrid mobo and i know most people dislike them, its pretty good but since ive gone from the 5200+ brisbane and 4gb ddr2 g-skills 888mhz to my current 4130 and 4gb 1600mhz (single stick not dual channel) i've lost performance. could it be the fact i dont have another stick of ram for dual channel? or the TDP? or maybe just the motherboard itself being a hybrid mobo. any suggestions would be nice going to link a photo to the tests.

Could be that the new CPU is running hotter and is being throttled as a result. 16C can't be right either unless you are running your rig in a freezer. The CPU can't be cooler than the room it is running it. Because the CPU isn't supported, the temp sensors may not be functioning properly.

What make/model heatsink are you using?
