I want to use a Asus NVIDIA GTX 760 in my new PC build however I currently can't afford a new monitor (my old only has a VGA port and the 760 has DVI ports) If I use my current monitor with a VGA to DVI adapter will it cap/limit my frame rate?

Solution
No, that will not limit your FPS. What may limit it is your overall system (CPU and GPU in particular). What are the specs for your rig and at what resolution will you be gaming?

I5 4670k
Asus Maximus VI Hero
8gb Corsair Vengeance Ram
Asus NVIDIA GTX 760
Corsair RM850

There are no monitors used for gaming that have a VGA resolution that high, reason being those cost around $3500.
Rather get $300 worth of a 2560x1600 DVI-D monitor.

Just to be clear, the use of a VGA only display is not a bottleneck. It is simply using a lower resolution than the system is capable of supporting. Performance (as in FPS) should be very high on such a rig since the GPU will have to manipulate fewer pixels than with a higher resolution display.

yes, i know thats why i put quotations around the word bottleneck because it technically wasnt a bottleneck.
