The problem is is dayz or the engine that the game is built on is terrible the optimization strictly increases or decreases filters giving you little control over how to make it run on different systems. On top of this problem comes the fact its a very CPU intensive game probably one of the most on the current generation market and your CPU is not.... Up to par. You may run at 1600x1200 but with your configuration it has to be miserable which is why you are here asking us what to change it too

Overall, I consider the beta driver release to be more than welcome. It's true that NVIDIA came across as a bit boastful when announcing the GeForce 337.50 beta drivers, and a more subtle marketing approach could've gone a long way in avoiding any media backfire. That being said, performance gains achieved by a free driver update have always been good for PC gamers, even if the increase is not so spectacular across the board. There was something for every performance tier with the NVIDIA GeForce 337.50 Beta drivers, and a consistent five frames per second increase in certain titles is still better than none. NVIDIA achieved very good FPS increase by optimizing on an existing API with a BETA driver update. The Green Team will want to stay on the right track if it is to squeeze every frame available when DirectX 12 is rolled out.

I don't think you will see much difference, but it's worth a try.

He/she has a gt 640 and won't benefit from the new dx11 optimizations those targeted the 700 series mostly and 600s just for good measure I haven't read 500s getting anything performance boost wise since its release.

For you and everyone witht he $500 tax refund, just get a console. Honestly the Consoles are tweaked specifically for the games, and the games will ALWAYS play perfectly. On that budget for a PC you will ALWAYS have issues, because the cost of hardware on PC side is twice that of a console to get the level 'expected' ( 60FPS or greater, 1080P display 64Man Maps all settings maxed).

NO A10, A8, Ax entire line is for Low Power, Low Cost, LOW DEMAND 90% other usage, NOT gaming. Just read the testing on those latest A10, and we are talking lower end OLD games had to be SET to LOW /Medium and playing ONLY in the 20FPS range. Again, these are NOT gaming CPUs. FX-8xxx is really the only AMD one you can go for 2013 FORWARD titles, Intel i5 is the standard which Haswell chipset (i5-4xxx) performs AHEAD of the FX-8xxx now.

That's really quite the strong opinion to come in here spout what's with the console hocking? He has a PC he's just asking for optimization... Please keep these opinions to posts that lretain to questions involving that debate.

Not hocking the consoles, I am pointing that everyone wanting to game on just "couple hundred" dollars can't do that on the PC side of things, because honestly it is MUCH more expensive then that, BUT the alternative that every one of these CAN still play "all the modern games" but around a "couple hundred" dollars is to stick to consoles.

That said, it isn't a "opinion" it is based on AMD's own statement on the purpose of the APU, the technical background and build on the APU line, and most of all previous and current testing done about the APU. To point SPECIFICALLY to the most recent testing of the most recent A10-7xxx here it is for yourself:
http://www.techspot.com/review/781-amd-a10-7850k-graphics-performance/page5.html

As I said, on the most recent testing shows it isn't really up to the task for DayZ, BF4, etc. especially on some medium or higher settings much less for a 'normal' display of 1080p and these are using lower end gamer's cards at that, which even more so amplified the issues with the APUs, as noted, they are for the 90% of the rest of the market just needing a 'PC to turn on and get to my Facebook/Email/Website/Youtube".

He could play dayz at Xbox one equivalent settings... If he turned down resolution and balanced the optimization it was proven for the price of a current gen console you can build a gaming PC that outperfirms at 1080p .

Yes you can build a gaming PC that outperforms NexGen consoles, IF the person has substantial ($1000+) money. EVERYONE of the people buying / posting about the APUs either A) don't know what AMD or INTEL is (much less what performance a A6 comapred to a A10 means) or B) is on a limited budget which repeatedly (see your own search results on the forum to prove my point) is the $500 tax rebate they all got and they have no other 'money' to spend on it.

So given the limited fiscal ability, but still DEMAND they play current games, there is only one answer for each of these posts "Get a console then".
