I have been having problems with minecraft on my Gaming machine. It would be expected to run extremely easy but when I'm moving around on a server my game starts to lag around and my FPS drops considerably. I have tried V-sync and limiting my FPS from 120 to 60 but it has had no help.

System specs:
AMD FX-8350 8 Core CPU
8 GB (2X4GB sticks) Corsair Vengeance 1866
ASUS HD 7770 GHZ edition with 2 GB of GDDR5
XFX HD 5450 1GB

I just want to keep minecraft as smooth as possible. The settings in game i use are maxed out.

Set advanced open GL to on in the video settings. There is suck a thing as server side lag or internet lag. Do an Oloka Speed Test. Tell me your results.

The Advanced OpenGL option was removed recently.
And my internet speeds: http://www.speedtest.net/result/3443379757.png
The server is within my own house as I host it, so that would be LAN speeds right?

Those are some OK speeds, the upload is a little slow. Check the server console, see is it is saying it cannot keep up. I run a server as well, lag for me is dependent on internet speed. How many people play on your server?

The console hasn't had a problem. And the amount of players is 1-4 people but usually one at a time.

K. How much RAM does it use? I give my 2 servers 3GB each, they run on a dedicated server pc.

I have my servers run with 1 GB of memory a piece because it was just a throw together PC and there are 3 servers on it.

I also get this problem when on single player too. Not as bad but still enough to be an annoyance.
