I currently have an Advent DT2111b. I am getting:

-1x GigaByte GeForce GTX 770 4gb
-BeQuiet Dark Power Pro P10 850W '80Plus Platinium' Modular Power Supply
-NZXT Phantom 410 Enthusiast Midi Tower Case - Black/White

Questions:

1. Will I be able to transfer ALL other components from my old case? including my disc-drive etc.?

2.How many and what fans should I buy? The case comes with 3 and there is room for 8. I was looking at this fan:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-004-NX

Thanks for the help,

That PSU is overkill powerwise, and while a good psu, is rather at the expensive end.

In theory, you should be able to swap everything over. I'm not familiar with advent pcs, but I know Dell, HP, and other brand name ones don't switch cases very nicely because all the case connectors are proprietary to the case and motherboard, and sometimes even things like the CPU heatsink are mounted directly to the case in some cases, so really hard to say.

I chose that PSU as I will eventually be upgrading my Motherboard and CPU (I am aware that I will also need to buy a new OS) and I wanted one that was a futureproof as possible. If there is another PSU that is of good quality and futureproof-ish then can you please recommend it?
And what do you think about the fans?

Thanks,

I don't really know much about fans :/

What do you look for when buying fans anyway? for example what is the difference (except price) between http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-000-NX and http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-004-NX

Thanks,

as far as fans, you really only need up to 4, 5 if its a full tower. 1-2 intake, 2-3 air removal. and a fan that cost $3-$5 with led's will be loud and probly not very good. the case will come with fans, and that is usually enough, but if you want to add/replace any fans, look for a fan with high air flow and low rpm.

Is this fan ok? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-004-NX

Thanks,

yes, that is a very good fan, so i would suggest you buy 1 of those and add it to your case with all the other fans, and i would have this fan as your intake fan, the rest air-out. basically, you want to have a mini wind tunnel sort of thing that blows all the air outside your case, while you intake cool air from outside your case. also, you can control the speed of the fan, so it can be quiet when you want it to be.

I've been researching that fan and apparently it is a lot louder than others on the market, would any fan of the same dimensions work just as well? like for example the one I am currently looking at:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-009-NC

Thanks again,

Do you think that the first fan is exceptionally loud at 22-36.5 dBA (120mm version) and 22.1-37 dBA (140mm version)? 90% of the time I am wearing headphones but I still wouldn't want to purchase an abnormally loud fan.

Thanks again,

How likely do you think that is? Because you're right... it's pointless worrying about fans if I can't even upgrade it in the first place.

After doing some research previously, I found nothing about proprietary connections, except the fact that upgrading the CPU would mean a change of motherboard and a new OS.

Thanks,

I wouldn't know what a standard one looks like :/ When it comes to opening up the PC, I am slightly uneasy. I could in theory just grab a screwdriver and look inside, however I wouldn't know where to look on the motherboard or what to look for in terms of layout or case connections.
I will not be doing the literal upgrade myself, I will probably take it to a PC store or a friend who knows what he's doing.
