Hi guys, my gtx465 is getting pretty old so I was thinking on buying a new gpu, these are my options:

Ati Radeon R9 280X 3gb Ddr5 MSI $450

ASUS RADEON R9 280X 3.0 GB DDR-5 $582

Sapphire Vapor-X R9 280X 3G D5 PCIE UEFI $516

Yes, I know these are very high prices but in my country tech costs double :/
Is there a big perfomance difference between the asus 280x and the msi 280x? $132 is a pretty price difference for me.

Should I be checking other GPUs?
These are my specs.

MB: ASUS m5a97 evo r2.0
GPU: GTX 465 (4 years old)
8gb Corsair Vengeance 1600 mhz (2x4)
CPU AMD FX 6100 - stock cooling
Sentey Renegade GS 6200
PSU Cooler master extreme power pro 600w

Thank for reading guys!

Since the ASUS is so overpriced, i would say go for the MSI R9 280X, Sapphire is also a good brand but trust me.. I ran a FX6100 and the old version of the Sapphire, the 7970Ghz Vapor-x (7970Ghz and 280X are the same card, they even Crossfire, its just a rebranding).

The Vapor-X i very noisy, MSI and ASUS are both really good, though the ASUS is overpriced, nothing can justify the price difference againt the MSI, so you should defently go for the MSI instead.

I would actually say that the R9 280X is getting a small bottleneck from the FX6100, but it's really only noticeable in games which are pretty cpu heavy. Had some problems in GTA IV and Crysis 3 with this slight bottleneck, being pretty bad in both games. Though games like BF3 ran totally smooth without problems.

Hope this helps! :D

Thanks nicom! About the fx 6100, i'm thinking on replacing it for a fx 8350 with a nice cooler but after the 280x.

Thanks for replying!

Like leeb said. Go for the 8320, only go for the 8350 if they're pretty close in price. Since the higher the clock also means better chip. They make the less good chips into lower clock models and better ching into the higher clocked ones.
