Hello.
I have a Verbatim Store N Go USB 3.0 1TB. It randomly stopped working on my mac on a holiday, and when I got home and tried to connect it to my pc it said it needs to be formatted.

*Some background*
My HDD has been formatted once before. I had a lot of movies and project files on it and at one point the HDD just stopped showing up on my mac as a unit. It did however still show up on my pc, and it was fully functioning with the exception of one or two corrupted folders. I ended up formatting it by accident (ony my pc) as I was prompted to "repair" my HDD (I didn't know it would format my unit). I believe the prompt and error may be due to some physical damage caused by a lot of disconnecting and reconnecting without safely removing the HDD first.
After the formatting, the hard disk worked fine on both mac and pc. It worked fine up until recently (about the 5th of april).

I've tried using a data recovery software. It worked for about 2/9 of the data on the HDD and then it stopped. Only thing about it is that I couldn't choose which data to recover and it renamed all the files so now I can't recognize them easily. Does anyone have any alternatives which would be more efficient? I've heard something about partitions but I haven't really worked much with it yet.

Any help is very much appreciated as I have an important deadline to make in 1,5 weeks!

Also, I am currently on my mac as I am on vacation again, but I'll be back to the pc on the 20th april. Fixes for both systems are very much appreciated!
