Any way to get audio out of a monitor (no speakers) without connecting to a computer?

I am trying to use my extra Dell monitor (no speakers) as a "tv" using the Roku stick. The problem is the monitor has no speakers. Do I need to connect it to a device that has a sound card? Are there speakers that have their own sound card? I do not want to connect the monitor to a computer. The monitor is a Dell P2312H if that helps.

yes... you could possibly use USB speakers and plug into the monitor usb hub. Never triedi t before since i have no need... but id go to walmart and buy a cheap set just to test.
Also, it has the audio DC out it looks like, which was made to attach a dell soundbar to. never used one of these eeither... might need to research more.
