if only using 1 monitor, the 2nd build is better. if multi-monitor, the first build is better. and 850 watt is overkill, 550 would be fine for both builds, but i would go with 650 for more efficiency.

The first one has a slightly better HDD, bigger PSU, and comes with an OS. The case is a personal matter. The gfx cards are closely matched.

Personally, I would opt for the first build because both of those graphics card are essentially the same and not worth paying the extra £40 for the 770 IMO. The first build also has a higher PSU wattage which I would believe is better than the 650W. Apart from that, both builds look very good. The first build also comes with Windows 8.1.

oh yes, the first one has windows 8.1 if i had to chose one or the either, i would opt for the first. however, are these builds that you might buy, and they are already built, or are they not built or bought and you were thinking about building one? if it isnt bought yet, i would get the first, but alter it a little.
