im in the market for a new motherboard to fit my current processor. i currently am running the asus p8z77v-lx and want to upgrade. im putting a cap on the price at 300$ opinions?? i want the best i can get under that amount. i do moderate gaming, nothing excessive, a good amount of autocad and solid works, so it needs to be fast. would like OC capabilities if possible. thanks gents!!!

If I'm not mistaken, your current motherboard is capable of OCing.

So upgrading your motherboard... nonetheless with a $300 budget, is a large waste of money. You could likely even buy a new i5-4670k and Z87 board with $300 if you shopped around enough, but your i5 is more than sufficient.

you think its better to upgrade the cpu? didnt really consider it but i suppose i could. and yes, i can overclock on this board, but its pretty basic. i like the sabertooth z87, just dont have the right socket.
