Hard disk drive missing

Hey guys,

About 2 hours ago I turned my computer off normally like everyone else, It's been working fine, no crashes or anything. When I went to turn the computer back on the HDD totally disappeared. It's all plugged in like it was but the computer doesn't detect it any more.

Any ideas as to what happened?

It doesn't even come up in the disk management anymore. I've checked if the cables are loose and they're all fine too.

Extra note, I have the asus maximus Motherboard and it's displaying the 'ao' error which apparently is a disk failure
