My computer's PSU basically broke and i had an extra one just incase. I decided to install the other PSU without any prior knowlage on where to put all the wires. So i ended up throwing wires in places that look right. I turned my computer on and watched as the fans turned on, but nothing after that. My monitor was completely blank. There were 2 beeps on start up, but there was a long delay between the two. Ive un dusted everything and rechecked that everything was plugged in. Now im blankly staring at my 900 dollar box.

Ok so i found out i had an adapter connected to my graphics card that was broken, i was able to fix it and my computer turns on and operates perfectly apart from when i try to play games. But thats a complete other problem i wont get into, thanks for trying to help JLH46.

Funny thing is, it actually doesnt turn off when i press the power button. And i knew where the important tid bits go from seeing where the wires from my old PSU were.

Hm.. even if you hold the power button? Gotcha, good call on just following where the wires were from before. Do you have a dedicated graphic card in the system? If so, try moving the output cable to the motherboard. Could be that, if you do have a dedicated card, that it isn't getting power. I could be wrong on that, though.

My computer now turns off when i press the button, and my motherboard doesnt have a compatible DVI slot to put the cable into. My best guess is that i really messed up in plugging something in somewhere hah.
