Hi everyone,
My computer was recently given to me by my brother. After installing a fresh copy of windows 7 ultimate and updating most of my drivers everything was okay. I went to go into the graphics card properties so I could change the quality settings to performance so my game would run a little smoother. However there were no options or settings to change so I updated the driver right from ati's website. After I updated the driver it started up and after about 5 minutes it consistently blue screens, it will continue to start back up and everything but never lasts longer then 10 minutes. So I restored everything back to before my driver update and its fine, but videos and games run laggy at times because the drivers still out of date. I don't know if anyone has done a fresh install and knows how choppy websites and just everything in general runs before updating your graphic card driver but I feel that's where I'm at at this point.
Does anyone know of any possible work arounds that might allow me to update my driver minus the blue screen, or is it time to start saving for a new card?
Any input at all is greatly appreciated and I thank anyone in advance for any input.
Thanks!
Brenen

Not to sure what has changed since the last time I updated my drivers and was getting the blue screen but I updated to the newest release then the beta and neither caused me to go to blue screen afterwards. I've installed a couple windows updates and swapped out power supplies because the old one just shut off about 2 weeks ago and wouldn't turn back on. The only thing I can think of is the power supply not giving the card the right voltage but that seems unlikely to me considering the cards pcie and doesn't require any power cords or anything at all ran to it. Just figured I'd try and share where I'm at and what happened in hopes that maybe someone else can gain from it. If not, sorry for wasting your time.
Hope everyone has a good holiday, be safe and eat well my friends... eat well.
