So I have always considered overclocking.. But I don't know if I should.. Here is my pc specs. ALSO.. ""MY RIG IS FOR GAMING!!!""

Case: CM Storm Scout II
CPU: i5 3570K
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-z77x-UD5H
PSU: Corsair TX 750
GPU: EVGA GTX 770 SC 4GB
RAM: g.skill ripjaws 1600 (2x4) 8GB
SSD: Crucial m4 512GB
HDD: a few 2TB Hitachi

And if you think it's a good idea.. I can go look up how to myself. afterburner or somthing.. right? :)

Your entire build was made for OC, and yes, you will notice a difference. Run prime95 small fft and hwmonitor or coretemp or other reliable temp reader and get base temps at max CPU. Start out with an easy OC, bump the multiplier in bios up to 42 and run the stress tests again. That's it, you just OC'd. Welcome to the club.

Msi afterburner for gpu and in your bios for you cpu. You should be able to hit 4.5 stable on your cpu as you have a good cooler and mobo as long as you have a decent cpu bin.

Yes, your rig looks good for overclock, and my mantra is if you can why not, my 3570k is stable on my evo at 4.3.

I get good fps.. But i'm looking at my temps. all my cores are at 30 degrees or less. I was gunna try doing 4.0 ghz.

Alright.. So I found this video and they said to use the turbo ratio to over clock.

EXAMPLE: http://gyazo.com/28ead86ff7c0b2d3eef9bc651d08a5b3

But there is also the normal ratio.

EXAMPLE: http://gyazo.com/2358ecf60e62a7a25c9aba75a29bd053

I did it using the turbo ratio..I dont see a temp difference..

And also if this helps.. these are the programs i am using.

The h-100i is a very good cooler, with a large capacity for cooling. For a decent OC like yours, I'd be really surprised if there was a noticeable difference in temps. Above 4.2 is where the fun begins, no more auto voltage etc. It's pretty much all manual to keep temps down, CPU stability and performance gains at an acceptable rate. Now is when accurate temps become really important, they are the gauge of how much further you can go. Congrats btw :D

K. I think I figured it out.. I dont use that boost clock thing.. When I went back to the bios it didnt save those settings.. So I use the standard clock. that seemed to work. clocked at 4.2GHZ and am at 30 degress celcious.

FYI: I also did that stress test.. Never went over 55 celcious
