I have a PC with GeForce 8600GT installed and wish to swap over to the above card
I would like to find information on how to do this.

Its pretty simple and I'll do my best to run you though it. First, you want to ensure that your power supply can deliver the power that the new card will need (gtx 260 in your case). The power requirements for that card is 500w. Next, you want to make sure the card physically fits into the case. The best way to do this is to measure using a ruler from the back of the case (where video card outputs are located) to the point where it will make contact with another component (which will most likely be the end of the case) and compare to the specified length of the new card to ensure proper fit. After that, it will be as simply as unscrewing left side panel of the case, unscrewing graphics (usually 2 screws hold it up), removing graphics...

After that, it will be as simply as unscrewing left side panel of the case, unscrewing graphics (usually 2 screws hold it up), removing graphics from motherboard, placing new graphic card in motherboard, screw it down, plugging necessary cables to card (2x 6 pin connectors), and replacing panel. Once you boot computer, you want to install latest drivers from Nvidia site and you will be all done. Its very easy and I have done it more times than I can count and watching videos of others installing their cards will help.
