Best audio settings for headphones

Hi, i just a got a pair of audio technica m50 and they are great, but for games, what would be the best audio setting for directional hearing?

default and 2.0. they are stereo headphones and trying to set them to anything else won't work properly. of course being limited to 2.0 will also limit directional hearing.
