Hey guys I've been doing some research and I have an idea of what I'm looking for in an additional monitor. Currently I have a 1600x900 Acer Monitor and am looking to give it a companion on my desk.

The monitor that currently catches my eye is the Asus VX229H

My question is:
If you own this monitor what is your experience with it and is it a good buy?

I like this monitor because it has the things I'm looking for, although its a bit small it will actually be slightly bigger than my current 20' panel. It's 'frameless' design really appeals to me and I like the way it looks BUT that is not the only reason why I like this monitor. It is an IPS panel, specifically an AH-IPS monitor and it has an acceptable response time of 5ms GTG. 2 HDMI inputs, 1 VGA and a headphone jack in the back. A DVI input would of been nice but apparently it includes a DVI to HDMI cable in the box so I suppose thats fine.

Anyways if you have any similar monitors that you would like to recommend please do. Suggestions are appreciated!

Note: I would like to spend less the $200 dollars on an additional monitor to my desktop, this includes the taxes. Also if there is a slightly larger model that would be nice. I do play games on my desktop but spend more time watching Netflix, web browsing, Youtube.

i own 2 of the VX279Q monitors its the 27" ones but overall the same and they are awesome i will be getting a 3rd of them next month as my 3rd one atm is a asus 27" tn panel.

The colours is great the response time just bing 5ms i have not noticed any ghosting at all in any games and i play fps like bf4 and alot of action games.

the only bad thing is the touch sensitive buttons but that you get used to in about 1 hour.

you need to change the brightness and so a little, but it was not bad at all on the standard.

the speakers are not loud at all i dont use them all myself since i have a real good speaker setup+headphones but i just wanted to test them. they work if you lissen to some music or so but nothing impressive atall as you come...

overall the picture quality is great no dead pixels no ghosting and no screen bleeding its a solid choise, i love mine.

Out of curiosity how long have you owned your set of monitors?
