I have recently decided to build a gaming computer, this is my first time, and I was hoping to stay around the $1000 mark (before peripherals), although it is starting to stretch towards $1500. Anyway, I was just wondering if this setup would work, and if there is anything that I need to upgrade. Right now my concerns include the case being too small, wrong amount of power, only having one RAM chip, and the fact that I have no clue if my motherboard is good. It is especially important that the motherboard is good actually, because Windows 7 OEM can't be installed on 2 motherboards, so I can't upgrade the MB until I buy another copy of Windows.

Also, I have no idea if this is relevant or not, but as this is my first desktop. I need some basic peripherals, so here they are:

Get two sticks of ram, 2x 4GB ram, or 2x 8GB. (Though you will not need more than 8Gb for gaming.) Everything is compatible & will work but make sure you get 2 sticks, not 1. & very nice choice with the Gigabyte card, it's awesomely quiet & cool.

You did very well and your components will work together fine as selected. That said, here's just few suggestions you may like:
2x4GB (8GB net) RAM allows you to gain the benefit of dual channel:

These are also lower cas latency and are slightly faster

A proven winner Corsair quality psu for about $20 more:

This motherboard has won a lot of awards and is only $10 more:

This monitor is $20 and has better specs:

For the same price of your selected keyboard this new one from corsair is gorgeous:

Now again, I realize most of these recommendations cost a little more and you were already past your budget by a good amount but I felt it would be helpful for you to see what's comparable and ascertain for yourself what switches you'd like to make if any. I'd mainly urge you to get the dual channel ram at least with the lower cas latency for improved performance at no real net cost difference save about $4.

Also with regard to the keyboard, your selected razer is mechanical which I do prefer but the new corsair is one of the best membrane style keyboards for quieter user and is close to mechanical feel but I want that to be noted clearly.

Other than that all I can think to say is have fun and good gaming!

Thanks,

Justin
