Mixing low and high density rams

I need to know that if it's totally ok to have one high density ram and one low density ram if both are the same speed and type? I have one Kingston 4GB PC3-12800 ram and one PNY 8GB PC3-12800 ram also. Just the PNY is low density and the other one is high density. My notebook only supports single channel so it won't do any dual channel. So far it's working fine and shows the right amount of ram and speed but I want to make sure if it's safe using these rams together.

Thanks

As far as safe - pretty much yes, could be problems in the future but no way of telling, at worse the sticks wouldn't want to play, it wouldn't be a meltdown or anything like that, more on the order of might get blue screens, etc

Might or might not work together, ANY time you mix packages of DRAM 9even the same exact model) it can can be and often is problematic, mixing different, brands, densities, timings, voltages, et al can just complicate things further, if you do try and have problems, give me a holler, will help if I can

Well my question is that if the memory works fine for 4 days will something happen in the long run or will it work fine for many years since right now it's working fine without problems.
