smart problems in 3 new hdds

I got a new 1 tb hdd and I plug it in and went to disk manager to add a partition to it, it 10 minutes but after that it failed so I rebooted and it said s.m.a.r.t. command failed and I could not reboot with it in my pc, so I took it back, and the same thing happened, then I took that one back and it has the same issue

WD and Samsung hard drives are generally very reliable, all the WD & Samsung ones I've bought have been fine, whereas Seagate ones have almost always failed within 6 months. It is a bit of a lottery though as all makes have a percentage of bad ones, just in my experience Seagate ones have been the worst.
