Hi. I have an LG Flatron L177WSB monitor. Have been using it since many years and I recently purchased an Xbox 360 Slim. I have a HDTV: Sony Bravia. Obviously like everybody I too want to play Xbox games in HD but the TV is too big! So instead I play 'em (AC4/GTA5) on my monitor using HDMI to VGA converter (3rd party). The maximum resolution of my monitor is 1440x900, but My Xbox 360 Slim shows only upto 1280x720 resolution! I get no option for 1440x900! When checked regarding it's resolution on LG's site, it says: 1440x990. But I am not getting that option! Why? The games look great on HDTV and good on monitor, but I want to play em on the highest resolution. But I can't! Please help me out!

Thanks in Advance.

As far as I'm aware, an HDMI cable will only support resolutions of 720p, 1080i and 1080p. Bizarre as it may seem, HDMI won't support any in-between resolution.

If you used a VGA cable directly from the Xbox rather than through an adapter, you should be able to access the full suite of resolutions, including 1440x900.

As previously stated the Xbox, like the PS3, Xbox 1 and PS4 only run at 720P. Consoles are not the best for HD gameplay. If you were somehow able to up the resolution it would be a slightly pixelated mess as the Xbox was made in 720p for 720p
