Hey guys, so i have this LGA775 based RIG and i think it's time for an upgrade...here are my current specs:

Core 2 Duo E7300 @ 2.66 Ghz
2 Gb ddr2 kingston RAM
340w PSU
Radeon x1650 PRO
Gigabyte GA-945GZM-S2 motherboard

So yeah i know this is a pretty old RIG (my first one) and now i have the money for the mobo and RAM upgrade.
I'm between these two:

and

note that it is going to be a light gaming RIG.
I don't have the money to buy a new one...

Thank you in advance!

Honestly it's not worth putting extra money into your current system. A new motherboard will not add any extra performance, and faster ram will only add a few frames per second at best. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. What is your budget? Maybe we can suggest something newer in the same price range.

Your best upgrade for your current system would actually be a video card, but you would need a new PSU as well. Something like a GTX 750ti/ R9 260/270 should match up fairly decent with your system and will give alot more performance than a new motherboard and ram.
