My Monitor Disaster

Here goes.

I've got an ASUS VG248QE plugged into my iMac (running Windows always with bootcamp). I use(d) the VG248 monitor with lightboost and 120hz. I turned off my iMac's display, so really it functions as a computer, and I use my VG248 for its display (the iMac in question faces a wall). I have my VG248 connected to my iMac with a DP - mDP cable.

One night, I left my computer idle as I watched a movie elsewhere. When I returned, I found that my monitor's light was orange (standby mode). I pressed it again to turn it off, and once more to turn it on again. Briefly, its light was blue, but it said "DisplayPort - NO SIGNAL" or something to that effect, and proceeded to go back into its orange "standby" mode. Up until this point things had run like clockwork.

I restarted several times to no avail, but my iMac's monitor would turn on and function. This was somewhat reassuring. I got it to detect other displays, at which point the iMac's monitor would turn off. I then tried changing its resolution. What I found was that I was unable to change its 2560x1440 resolution to anything else, and when I wanted to, it would go black for several seconds, and then come back without changing at all ten seconds or so later.

I checked its "mode list", and to my surprise and interest, the only available modes were the lightboost modes I'd installed on my VG248 (eg. 1920x1080 @ 144hz), and then my iMac's 2560x1440 @ 60hz.

I figured this out later, but if I'd uninstalled lightboost, my iMac could have done other modes such has 1920x1080 @ 60hz, which would not have rendered the iMac's monitor hopelessly inert. Being a human, I decided (for the second or third time I've ever voluntarily done this) to switch to my Mac side to see if both displays would work. They did. However, upon switching again to Windows, neither display worked. At all. I could hear the computer's login noise through my headphones, so it was most definitely functioning.

I also tried using a dual link DVI cable with a DVI --> mDP adapter, to which my VG248 would respond "DVI - NO SIGNAL".

So, I am now stuck on my Mac side.

Could anyone help me with this deceptively simple, yet catastrophic problem? Thank you!

First try resetting PRAM

Resetting NVRAM / PRAM

Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

if that doesn't work, please reply.

Yes, I heard the mac reboot. I'll try booting it in safe mode to change display settings and tell you how that goes.

I got my iMac's display to work.

I booted in safe mode and uninstalled lightboost. I then uninstalled my video card's driver, then re-booted and installed my video card drivers again.
Much to my dissatisfaction, the VG248 still displays "NO SIGNAL".
