hello guys,
I have recently built a computer about two days ago, and everything has gone well. i made careful sure that the cpu goes into the socket correctly, the cooler is put correctly (i even put it the other way round) and reseated RAM in the two different slots, tested PSU using the paper clip method and the fan on the PSU spun, but the problem is still present, which is when i press the power button on the case, nothing happens except for the green LED light on the motherboard that lights up. I have also tried removing the power button connectors on the mobo and used a flathead screwdriver to try and short it to boot it but it does not work as well. here are the specs:

AMD A10 6790K with stock cooler
ASUS A85XM-A
Crucial 1x8GB RAM
Xigmatek X-Caliber 500W
Asgard casing (XP i think)
WD Green 1TB HDD

Should have gone with dual channel RAM. Anyhoo what do you mean no boot? No signal to monitor?, Grey lines on monitor,? Do you have an external GPU in crossfire or inside without crossfire?

okay, when i press the power button, nothing happens. no fans spin, no lights on, just the motherboard green LED that lights up, but apart from that nothing else. there's no GPU inside it.
