If you built your own you should also have a driver installation cd that came with your motherboard. It usually contains all of the drivers necessary to at least get all of the hardware up and running. That "should" get you to a point that you can connect to the net via your provider. Once you get to that point, then research and download all of the latest drivers, again usually from the motherboard and/or manufacturer's web site. Just make sure you download and install the correct drivers for the correct OS and hardware... If you purchased it pre-built, contact the person you purchased it from and complain loudly...
